Across an EtonHouse education, learners develop the capabilities, self-knowledge and real-world understanding to make confident choices. From Primary onwards, they pursue passion projects shaped by their own questions and interests. Their work grows into an EtonAspire Future Portfolio.

What is EtonAspire?

EtonAspire is EtonHouse’s future-readiness framework. It brings together academic learning, personal development, passion projects and meaningful connections with communities, universities and industry.

It is not a separate subject or an additional programme layered onto the school day. It provides an architecture for experiences across a learner’s education, helping children connect what they learn with who they are, what they care about and where their strengths could take them.

A passion project starts with something the learner genuinely wants to understand, create or change.

The learner does the work

They investigate, plan, make, test, revise and reflect. Educators provide structure and coaching, while the learner develops ownership of the process.

Learning meets the wider world

Depending on the project and the learner’s stage, connections with communities, universities, industries and practitioners help them see how knowledge is used beyond school.

The evidence is captured

Research, prototypes, feedback, reflections and finished work become part of the learner’s Future Portfolio.

Passion projects that belong to the child

Passion projects are a central part of the EtonAspire experience from Primary onwards. Each project begins with the child’s own curiosity. With guidance from their educators, children develop a question, plan what they will do and create something that demonstrates their learning. The emphasis is not only on the finished product. Children also learn through the research, early attempts, feedback, changes and discoveries that happen along the way. The result is learning that feels personally meaningful and work that the child can explain with genuine ownership.

Your child’s passion projects become their Future Portfolio

The Future Portfolio is a growing record of each child’s passion projects and development. It is not a scrapbook or a conventional school report. It can include questions, plans, research, prototypes, different versions of a piece of work, feedback and the child’s own reflections. Together, these show more than what a child completed. They show how the child thought, responded to challenges and grew through the experience. The portfolio gives children meaningful evidence of their progress and helps them recognise how capable they are of doing for themselves.
